2008 Mercury Sable Interior - Overview

The 2008 Mercury Sable has been designed on the outgoing Montego platform for a completely new look. The present models are the fourth-generation production line that began in 2000. The Base and the Premier models are available in both all-wheel and front-wheel body-styles. With a capacity to accommodate five passengers, there are many changes made in the interior and the exterior segments of the current models. To complement the clean exterior look, the manufacturer has come up with core attributes for the modern, airy interior cabin. From seating to convenience, it has got everything. The upscale interior body is highlighted with beautiful colors, such as charcoal black, light camel and medium light stone.

Seating

For making your long drives, quite comfortable the manufacturer has standard seating features like five-passenger seating capacity, 60/40 split fold-down rear seatbacks, fold-down front passenger seat and command seating. Behind the driver’s seat, there is a broad bench to make comfortable seating arrangement for three adults with enough room to stretch their legs. The seat has two positions molded to make the bucket seats and 60/40 split seats fit perfectly. With the seatbacks folded down flat, one gets a spacious cargo compartment. Features such as, Heated Front Seats, Driver’s Seat Power Recliner, Eight-way Power Driver’s Seat and Leather-trimmed Seating are standard on Premier models and optional on Base models.

Comfort and convenience features

Standard comfort related features for both the Base and Premier models are steering wheel with redundant controls, power points, grab handles, floor mats, message center and power locks. However, there are other optional gears also, such as dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, rear-seat DVD entertainment system and power-adjustable pedals with memory and power-adjustable pedals. These features can make your journey, be it a short or a long one, more memorable and comfortable one.

Space

Apart from accommodating five passengers comfortably, the Sable interior cabin can also be used to keep a huge number of cargoes. With the interior cargo volume of 21.2 cubic feet, the Sable models have a lot of space for your cargoes. The big flat trunk area in a box shape can carry a lot of gear. The enormous trunk has a capacity greater than most large sedans. For a neat and tidy look, the interior cabin also has eight cup-holders, front door storage pockets, front row center console, glove compartment, grocery bag hooks and instrument panel storage bin, map pockets and overhead console. However, the manufacturer keeps the Cargo Management System as the optional feature.

Entertainment On The Road

All the four models have the Audio Input Jack as the standard entertainment equipment. While the high quality AM/FM stereo with single CD player and MP3 capabilities are standard on Base models, the up-level Premier models come standard with the new voice-activation system SYNC and Audiophile® Sound System with AM/FM stereo/Six-disc in-dash CD changer and MP3 capability entertainment equipments to entertain both the front and rear passengers. The SIRIUS satellite radio service and a voice-activated navigation system come as the optional feature for all the four models of 2008 Mercury Sable Car.
